Care guide: wool & leather
Long guide pages need navigation. The bar below and the dots on the right edge are built with Jump Markers: every chapter is a jump marker in the Shopping Experience, and the navigation is generated from them automatically.
Look out for: smooth scrolling, a sticky navigation with a progress bar, the highlighted active chapter, a “back to top” link and copy-link buttons on the chapters.
1 · Washing wool the right way
Wool largely cleans itself: often it is enough to air a coat or sweater outside overnight. If you do need to wash it, use the wool programme at 30 °C at most and a special wool detergent.
Never wring it out! Gently press the water out in a towel and dry the item flat so it keeps its shape.
2 · Caring for leather
Smooth leather loves a thin layer of leather balm every few weeks. Brush off dust first, massage in the balm, leave it for 15 minutes and polish with a cotton cloth.
Never put wet shoes on the radiator: stuff them with newspaper and let them dry at room temperature.
3 · Storing it properly
Coats belong on wide hangers so the shoulders keep their shape. Knitwear is folded rather than hung, otherwise it stretches.
Cedar wood and lavender sachets keep moths away – as does airing your wardrobe regularly.
4 · Finding the right size
Every brand cuts a little differently. Check the size chart on the product page before you buy – for example on the Wool Coat “Camel”.
If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one for coats so there is room for a chunky sweater underneath.
